Co u nas w marcu?

• Dwukrotnie spotkaliśmy się z Prorektorem ds. studenckich i przedstawicielkami Biura IDUB, by omówić projekt regulaminu konkursu “Młody Badacz 2023-2025″. Wspólnie wypracowaliśmy propozycje zmian, które zostały przychylnie przyjęte przez Zespół opracowujący regulamin. Dziękujemy za życzliwe podejście do naszych propozycji i uwzględnienie ich w ostatecznej wersji regulaminu!
  Zachęcamy do wzięcia udziału w konkursie.
• W marcu odbyła się kolejna Edycja Dofinansowań Indywidualnych. Wprowadziliśmy drobne zmiany w regulaminie, co ułatwiło składanie i akceptowanie wniosków. Do doktorantów powędrowało 10 tysięcy złotych, dzięki którym będą mogli częściowo pokryć koszt udziału w konferencjach. Kolejna szansa na dofinansowanie już wkrótce!
• Niezmiennie trwają prace w sprawie wprowadzenia karty Multisport. Otrzymaliśmy propozycję operatora Multisport, firmy Benefit Systems, którą wkrótce przedstawimy Władzom UWr. Trzymajcie kciuki za powodzenie tej sprawy!
• Rada Doktorantów UWr przygotowuje także Przewodnik Doktoranta, którego celem jest wsparcie doktorantów pierwszego roku w odnalezieniu się w nowej roli.
• Odbyliśmy zapowiadane w poprzednim miesiącu spotkania z Władzami naszej Uczelni. Z Pełnomocnikiem Rektora ds. Szkoły Doktorskiej, prof. Robertem Klementowskim, poruszyliśmy między innymi kwestię zbyt późnego przedstawiania harmonogramów zajęć dla doktorantów w Szkole Doktorskiej. Podczas spotkania z Prorektorem ds. Studenckich, dr hab. Maciejem Cesarzem, postulowaliśmy objęcie programem Multisport doktorantów UWr, a także przedstawialiśmy zarys zmian, jakie planujemy wprowadzić w Samorządzie, by lepiej odpowiadał realiom Szkoły Doktorskiej.
• W pierwszy weekend marca dwoje członków Rady wzięło udział w I Otwartym Posiedzeniu Zarządu Krajowej Reprezentacji Doktorantów w Lublinie. Nasi reprezentanci wysłuchali sprawozdania Przewodniczącego KRD z bieżących działań Zarządu i wzięli udział w zaplanowanych szkoleniach.
• Rada Doktorantów UWr wzięła udział także w Kongresie Samorządności Doktoranckiej. Wydarzenie to poświęcone było dyskusji o roli samorządów doktoranckich oraz doświadczeniach i dobrych praktykach w kształceniu doktorantów.
• Jesteśmy w kontakcie z naszymi koleżankami i kolegami z Samorządu Studentów UWr. Przewodniczący obu Samorządów spotkali się w marcu, by omówić kwestie związane z powstającym na naszej Uczelni Centrum Aktywności Studenckiej i Doktoranckiej. Poruszyli również kwestię zadbania o potrzeby i prawa osób z niepełnosprawnościami i współpracy Samorządów na tym polu.

Uprzedzając sprawozdanie kwietniowe, z uwagi na wagę tej sprawy, informujemy, że Samorząd Doktorantów zajął stanowisko w sprawie Zarządzenia Rektora UWr nr 63/2023 przesuwającego termin oceny śródokresowej z 15 czerwca – 31 lipca na 15 września – 30 października. Zmianę tę i sposób jej wprowadzenia uważamy za antydoktorancką i krzywdzącą. Skierowaliśmy w tej sprawie pismo do Prorektora ds. Badań naukowych, prof. Artura Błażejewskiego. Na tym etapie oczekujemy na odpowiedź na nasze pismo. Doktorantów, których zmiana daty dotyka w szczególny sposób (np. zmuszając do zmiany planów zawodowych), prosimy o kontakt: samorzad.doktorantow@uwr.edu.pl

Szerszą relację z prac Rady Doktorantów, podsumowanie udziału w spotkaniach różnego szczebla i wypływające z nich wnioski przedstawimy podczas najbliższego posiedzenia Sejmiku, na który zapraszamy wszystkich doktorantów UWr. What’s up in March?

• We met twice with the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and representatives from the IDUB Office to discuss the draft regulations for the Young Researcher (Młody Badacz) 2023-2025 competition. Together, we came up with proposed changes, which the Regulations Development Team favourably received. Thank you for your kind approach to our proposals and for including them in the final version of the regulations! We encourage you to take part in the competition.
• The next Edition of the Individual Conference Grants took place in March. We made minor changes to the regulations, which made it easier to submit and accept applications. Doctoral students received PLN 10 000, thanks to which they can partially cover the cost of conference participation. The next funding opportunity is coming soon!
• Work is continuing unabated on the introduction of the Multisport card. We have received a proposal from the Multisport operator Benefit Systems, which we will soon present to the UWr authorities. Keep your fingers crossed for the success of this matter!
• The UWr Doctoral Student Council is also preparing a Doctoral Student Guide to help first-year doctoral students find their way in their new role.
• We held the meetings announced last month with the Authorities of our University. With the Vice-Chancellor’s Plenipotentiary for the Doctoral School, Prof. Robert Klementowski, we raised, among other things, the issue of the late submission of class schedules for doctoral students in the Doctoral School. During a meeting with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, dr hab. Maciej Cesarz, we advocated the inclusion of UWr Ph.D. students in the Multisport programme. We outlined the changes we plan to make to the Council to make it more responsive to the realities of the Doctoral School.
• On the first weekend of March, two members of the Council attended the First Open Meeting of the Board of thePolish Association of Doctoral Candidates (Krajowa Reprezentacja Doktorantów) in Lublin. Our representatives listened to the KRD President’s report on the board’s current activities and took part in the scheduled training sessions.
• The UWr Doctoral Students’ Council also participated in the Congress of Doctoral Self-Governance. The event was dedicated to discussing the role of doctoral self-governments, experiences, and good practices in doctoral education.
• We are in contact with our UWr Student Government Council colleagues. The presidents of both Councils met in March to discuss issues relating to the Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities being set up at our University. They also raised the issue of taking care of the needs and rights of people with disabilities and the cooperation of the Councils in this field.

Preceding the April report, due to the importance of this matter, we would like to inform you that the Doctoral Student Council has taken a position on the UWr Rector’s Order No. 63/2023, moving the deadline for mid-term assessment from 15 June – 31 July to 15 September – 30 October. We consider this change and how it was introduced as anti-doctoral and unfair. We have written to the Vice-Chancellor for Research, Prof Artur Blażejewski, on this matter. At this stage, we are awaiting a response to our letter. Doctoral students who are particularly affected by the date change (e.g., by being forced to change their professional plans), please contact samorzad.doktorantow@uwr.edu.pl.

A broader account of the work of the Doctoral Student Council, a summary of participation in meetings at various levels, and the conclusions drawn from them will be presented at the Assembly’s next meeting, to which all doctoral students of the University of Wrocław are invited.
