Drogie Doktorantki i Drodzy Doktoranci,
czy Wy też czujecie w powietrzu, że idzie wiosna? Za nami luty, pierwszy miesiąc pracy nowej Rady, a przed nami cały semestr letni i nowe wyzwania. Mamy nadzieję, że znaleźliście czas, by wypocząć tej zimy!
Co u nas?

• Zmiany! Nowy skład Rady to też nowy podział obowiązków, poznawanie się i długie rozmowy o celach, jakie stawiamy przed sobą w obecnym czasie. Teraz podkręcamy tempo i przechodzimy do jeszcze intensywniejszych działań.
• Przygotowaliśmy XXXI edycję dofinansowań indywidualnych. Już dziś możemy zapewnić, że budżet tej edycji będzie większy niż dotychczas. Wciąż pracujemy także nad innymi rozwiązaniami, które sprawią, że ten konkurs będzie dla Was o wiele bardziej korzystny. Wybierajcie, na jakie konferencje chcecie pojechać, i wypatrujcie maila od nas.
• Pod koniec stycznia odbyło się spotkanie zapoznawcze dla doktorantów zagranicznych, w którym wzięli udział także zaangażowani Samorządowcy. Podczas spotkania opowiedzieliśmy doktorantom anglojęzycznym o strukturach samorządu, a oni przedstawili nam swoje spostrzeżenia i problemy, z którymi się borykają. Wydziałowi Nauk Społecznych Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego dziękujemy za gościnę, a naszemu Zespołowi ds. Doktorantów Międzynarodowych za kapitalną organizację spotkania.
• Po tym wydarzeniu postanowiliśmy także założyć grupę na Facebooku UWr Doctoral Students, która zrzeszać ma wszystkich doktorantów naszej jednostki. Zachęcamy Was do dołączenia i dzielenia się tam informacjami o organizowanych wydarzeniach czy też wykorzystywania jej ku większej integracji. Zapraszamy!
• Oprócz tego, Zespół ds. Doktorantów Międzynarodowych organizował pierwsze spotkanie klubu naukowego, podczas którego doktorantka Wydziału Nauk Społecznych Eirini Aiva opowiedziała o zagadnieniach swojego doktoratu, w którym skupia się ona na badaniach migrantów w Grecji i Polsce.
• W pierwszej połowie lutego wysłaliśmy prośby o spotkanie z Prorektorami ds. Nauki, ds. Studenckich oraz z Pełnomocnikiem Rektora ds. Szkoły Doktorskiej. Wszyscy wyrazili chęć przyjęcia nas w najbliższym czasie – pierwszy wyznaczony termin zbliża się wielkimi krokami.
• Obecnie identyfikujemy jakie trudności natury organizacyjnej napotykają doktoranci pierwszego roku Szkoły Doktorskiej. Na tej podstawie będziemy planowali dalsze działania, mające na celu pomoc w przebrnięciu przez te problemy.
• Na skrzynkę Samorządu Doktorantów wpłynęły pytania o możliwość korzystania przez doktorantów UWr z programu Multisport. Sprawdzamy, co da się zrobić!
• W lutym braliśmy czynny udział w nieformalnych spotkaniach Porozumienia Doktorantów Uczelni Wrocławskich i uczestniczyliśmy w przygotowaniu nowego statutu PDUW. Radzie Doktorantów PWr dziękujemy za podjęcie tej inicjatywy!

Dear Doctoral Students,
Can you also feel in the air that spring is coming? 🌷 February, the first month of work of the new Council, is behind us, and a whole summer semester and new challenges lie ahead 💪. We hope you have found time to relax this winter! ☃
What’s in store for us?

• Changes! The new composition of the Council also means a new division of responsibilities, getting to know each other, and having long conversations about our goals for the current term. We are now turning up the pace and moving on to even more intensive activities.
• We have prepared the XXXI edition of individual grants. We can already assure you that the budget for this edition will be larger than before. We are also still working on other solutions to make this programme much more beneficial for you. Choose which conferences you want to go to, and look out for an email from us.
• At the end of January, we held a getting-to-know-you meeting for overseas doctoral students, also attended by the Local Government Officers involved. During the meeting, we told the English-speaking Ph.D. students about the structures of the self-government, and they gave us their insights and the problems they face. We thank the Faculty of Social Sciences for their hospitality and our International Team for the fantastic organisation of the meeting.
• After the event, we also decided to set up a Facebook group, „UWr Doctoral Students,” to bring together all doctoral students in our unit. We encourage you to join and share information about the events organised there or to use it for greater integration. You are very welcome!
• Moreover, the Doctoral Student International Team organized the first meeting of the science club, during which Eirini Aivaliotou, a doctoral student from the Faculty of Social Sciences, talked about the issues of her doctoral thesis, in which she focuses on the study of migrants in Greece and Poland.
• In the first half of February, we requested to meet with the Vice-Chancellors for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Rector’s Plenipotentiary for the Doctoral School. They have all expressed their willingness to host us in the near future – the first set date is fast approaching.
• We are currently identifying what difficulties of an organisational nature the first-year Ph.D. students in the Doctoral School are facing. Based on this, we will be planning further actions to help them get through these problems.
• The Doctoral Student Self-Government mailbox has received questions about the possibility of UWr doctoral students using the Multisport programme. We are looking into what can be done!
• In February, we took an active part in informal meetings of the Wrocław University Doctoral Students’ Agreement and participated in preparing the new statute of the PDUW. We thank the Council of Doctoral Students of the Wrocław University of Technology for taking this initiative!
